Deactivated Old Spec WW1 Era Lee Enfield SMLE Rifle Re Worked In India In 1966
Description

This is a Deactivated Old Spec WW1 Era Lee Enfield SMLE Rifle. This example was made by Enfield during the first world war and then most likely made its way over to India in the 1920s. It was used during the second world war and was then Re Worked In India In 1966 as shown. They have sadly ground off the old World War 1 markings and have stamped no1 mk3 and the year 1966 on the other side. This example has also been used as a drill purpose rifle as marked on the stock. It has a matching numbers for both the bolt and receiver. It has a beautiful brass butt plate and 37 pattern sling. As you can see it is in good condition all round with only minor wear. It has a few marks to the wood an armourer repairs as you can see in the photos. This example was deactivated in the late 1980s and is able to be stripped, cocked and dry fired. This example comes with it's deactivation papers.
