This is an original WW1 Set Of 5 1914 Dated Ceramic Plates And Cups Made To Support The War Effort.
This set consist of 2 cups 2 smaller plates and 1 large dinner plate. They feature theTriple Entente flags (Britain, France, Russia as well as Japan and Belgium.
Commonly produced by manufacturers like Grimwades Ltd around 1914–1915, these white porcelain or ceramic patriotic mugs celebrated the alliance, sometimes featuring the inscription “the triple Entente, United we stand, the allied armies” this set are all in great condition with the chips cracks or bits missing. One cup has a small line on the stem as shown which was done during the process of it being made as it has been glazed over. These are all made from bone china and have survived over 112 years in this condition. All the original colours are extremely bright and in perfect condition a great set to own for any Great War collector of museum.
