We know the badges and wings on the chest are reproduction but we believe the jacket and belt may be original examples. This is some details on the jacket.American WW2 Army Officers dress tunic. Officially called the Coat Service Officer's OD Dark but often just called the Officers A class tunic.This US Officers tunic was worn by all Branch of services including the Infantry, Armoured, Airborne, Air Force and Military Police in World war Two.The US Officers OD 51 dress tunic features:Four front pockets closed by brass buttons.The top two pockets have a centre pleat and shaped pocket flaps.The lower two pockets have straight flaps.Front is closed by 3 large brass buttons and 1 plastic button, the plastic button is flatter than the brass ones and is hidden by the waist belt.Shoulder epaulettes each with a small single brass button.One inside pocket.Waist belt is part sewn on and has a brass buckle.Fabric is 85% Wool and 15% Polyester.The back has a slit from the bottom hem up to the waist belt for a comfortable fit.Most of the officers tunics in WW2 were private purchase items and a lot of original samples can be found with a London tailors label on the inside, some of these private purchase uniforms vary slightly in style, fabric and colour.The US Army did manufacture and issue some Officers uniforms.
