The Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) was a British Army unit responsible for supplying the army with provisions, transport, and other vital services. It was initially known as the Army Service Corps (ASC), but was granted the "Royal" prefix in 1918 in recognition of its service during World War I. The RASC was a large corps, handling land, coastal, and lake transport, air despatch, and the supply of food, water, fuel, and general stores.
