This is a very unusual replica Forty Five Revolver. These examples are 1 to 1 copies of the The Bat Masterson Forty-Five. These were made as replica guns and were never real firearms. These were made by Franklin Mint as replicas to pay tribute to Bat Masterson. These are high quality examples made almost as good as the originals. These are not made out of light wait cheap metal. This example is machined and put together perfectly with very good weight and built quality. These were original made for the American market but a few were sold over here in the United Kingdom. This example comes on a lovely wooden mount which can be mounted on the wall. This is a small back story of Mr Bat Masterson. The revolver it's self is a Colt Single Action Army Revolver in 45 Colt.

Bartholomew "Bat" Masterson (1853–1921) was a legendary American Old West figure who evolved from a buffalo hunter, army scout, and gunfighting lawman in Dodge City, Kansas, into a noted New York City sportswriter. Known for his skill with a revolver, he served as a sheriff, US Marshal, and gambler before becoming a columnist for the New York Morning Telegraph.

Early Life & Frontier: Born in Quebec, Canada, he moved with his family to Kansas, where he became a buffalo hunter and scout on the Great Plains.

Lawman & Gunfighter: He became famous as a gunfighter in 1876, eventually serving as the sheriff of Ford County, Kansas, and a deputy marshal. He was associated with other famous Western figures, including Wyatt Earp.

"Bat" Nickname: Born Bartholomew, he was nicknamed "Bat" or "Batmasterson," though he was often referred to as William Barclay Masterson later in life.

Later Career: Later in life, he became a well-known journalist and boxing authority in New York City.

Death: He died of a heart attack at his desk on October 25, 1921.
