South African N09 Lee Enfield No4 Rifle Bayonet with scabbard.
Description

This is the South African variant of the No.9 bayonet, last of the line for the socket bayonet fitted to the Lee-Enfield no.4 rifle. The simple No.4 spike transformed into the elaborate no.7 knife bayonet with rotating handle, and then finished as a cross between the two, a knife bayonet without handle which served only one purpose. Modern bayonets have now returned to the dual purpose role of a useful knife as well as an extension to your rifle when you run out of ammo, or just fancy a bayonet charge!  In very good condition throughout with perfect point and edge, distinguishable by the double-edged knife blade with no fuller. Perfect correct scabbard, no dents.
