Rare 1944 dated 50 cal browning Drill round. During the war the U.S. looked into using steel cartridge cases and found that the grade steel they need was also need for all the ships, tanks and everything else made from high grade steel. Due to this the few they made were not fit for service and all the rounds were made into drill rounds so that they could not be used by accident. This particle one was made by Frankfort Arsenal in 1944 with the head stamp FA 4.
