This is an original Post War era 1952 dated British Army Mk4 Turtle Helmet. This example is in good condition all round with minor wear. This example has it's original post war black paint still present as well as the makers marks and date of 1952 which indicates this was the last year of production of the MK 4. This is the first pattern of Mk4 helmet. It continued the use of the nut and bolt fixing for the liner. In 1952 the army changed to the "Pull the Dot" system, so this helps to date this helmet. Most of this pattern of helmet were produced in 1945, however some were produced post war, so it is impossible to be sure of exact manufacture date. This example is in used condition all round with a few minor marks and chips as you can see. The original liner is present and dated 1952. It has some cracks and has dried out slightly. It has some netting added to the helmet but we are unsure if this is original to he helmet or not. It will fit a 57-60" head size.
