This is an original British Army issue spring steel protective cover for the L1A1 SLR foresight. This example is in very good condition with no dents or bending to the metal. It does have a small section of surface rust but this has not effected the example as you can see in the photos. The NSN Nato stock number for this was B1/1005-99-960-3110.
