This is a Genuine WW1/2 Small Brass Driving Band Shrapnel Piece UnCleaned. This is part of the brass driving band which would have fitted around the top of the shell. This was used to spin in the barrel which leaves the large strips as shown. This has then blown up and turned into a deadly piece of shrapnel. Sadly we don’t know where this piece has come from.
