This is an original war time made US Army water bottle canteen and cover. This example is in very good condition all round with all fittings and marks present. The bottle is dated 1945 and has a few dents and wear as shown. It still has it's original seal inside the lid as shown. The pouches has lots of markings including the US marking on the front. It has what we think is the date 1944/5 on the inside. This example has it's original war time owners name on the rear which we haven't had a chance to research. This example also has two Luftwaffe eagles drawn onto the front. We have no idea if these were done during or after the war but seem to have been done exactly the same as the name which is written on the cover and is has faded exactly the same.
