British Enamel Limbless Ex-Servicemen Association LESMA Membership Badge
Description

A good original later pattern circa 1930's period 'British L.E.S.M.A. Membership badge'; gilded brass triangular shaped example, depicting "Britannia" in relief on recessed rectangle, within laurel wreath and sprays. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, enamel intact.

Height 22mm.

Formed around the 1920's when limbless men gathered together to discuss their problems and to give support to each other. A group of such men in the Glasgow area banded together to form the first branch of the 'Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association'.
